Die Yogachudamani Upanishad oder auch Yogachudamanyupanishad (Sanskrit: योगचूडामण्युपनिषद् yoga-cūḍāmaṇy-upaniṣad f.) ist ein Teil der indischen Heiligen Schriften, die Veda genannt werden. Die Yogachudamani Upanishad gehört zum Samaveda und wird den Yoga Upanishaden zugeordnet.

Die Yogachudamani Upanishad ist trotz ihrer formalen Zugehörigkeit zur Shruti ein kompilierter Text, insofern der Großteil ihrer Verse aus anderen, älteren Werken zusammengetragen und in teilweise neuer Anordnung übernommen wurden. Diese sind in den meisten Fällen das Goraksha Shataka (Version 1 und 2) und die Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Vers 1: Einleitung

योगचूडामणिं वक्ष्ये योगिनां हितकाम्यया |

॥ yoga-cūḍāmaṇy-upaniṣat ॥

yoga-cūḍāmaṇiṃ vakṣye yogināṃ hita-kāmyayā ।

kaivalya-siddhidaṃ gūḍhaṃ sevitaṃ yoga-vittamaiḥ ॥ 1 ॥

āsanaṃ prāṇa-saṃrodhaḥ pratyāhāraś ca dhāraṇā ।

dhyānaṃ samādhir etāni yogāṅgāni bhavanti ṣaṭ ॥ 2 ॥

ekaṃ siddhāsanaṃ proktaṃ dvitīyaṃ kamalāsanam ।

ṣaṭ-cakraṃ ṣoḍaśādhāraṃ tri-lakṣyaṃ vyoma-pañcakam ॥ 3 ॥

sva-dehe yo na jānāti tasya siddhiḥ kathaṃ bhavet ।

catur-dalaṃ syād ādhāraṃ svādhiṣṭhānaṃ ca ṣaḍ-dalam ॥ 4 ॥

nābhau daśa-dalaṃ padmaṃ hṛdaye dvā-daśārakam ।

ṣoḍaśāraṃ viśuddhākhyaṃ bhrū-madhye dvi-dalaṃ tathā ॥ 5 ॥

sahasra-dala-saṅkhyātaṃ brahma-randhre mahā-pathi ।

yoni-sthānaṃ dvayor madhye kāma-rūpaṃ nigadyate ।

kāmākhyaṃ tu guda-sthāne paṅkajaṃ tu catur-dalam ॥ 7 ॥

tan-madhye procyate yoniḥ kāmākhyā siddha-vanditā ।

tasya madhye mahā-liṅgaṃ paścimābhimukhaṃ sthitam ॥ 8 ॥

nābhau tu maṇi-vad bimbaṃ yo jānāti sa yoga-vit ।

tapta-cāmīkarābhāsaṃ taḍil-lekheva visphurat ॥ 9 ॥

tri-koṇaṃ tat puraṃ vahner adho meḍhrāt pratiṣṭhitam ।

samādhau paramaṃ jyotir anantaṃ viśvato-mukham ॥ 10 ॥

tasmin dṛṣṭe mahā-yoge yātāyāto na vidyate ।

sva-śabdena bhavet prāṇaḥ svādhiṣṭhānaṃ tad-āśrayam ॥ 11 ॥

svādhiṣṭhāśrayād asmān meḍhram evabhidhīyate ।

tantunā maṇi-vat proto yo'tra kandaḥ suṣumnayā ॥ 12 ॥

tan nābhi-maṇḍale cakraṃ procyate maṇi-pūrakam ।

dvā-daśāre mahā-cakre puṇya-pāpa-vivarjite ॥ 13 ॥

tāvaj jīvo bhramaty evaṃ yāvat tattvaṃ na vindati ।

ūrdhvaṃ meḍhrād adho nābheḥ kanda-yoniḥ khagāṇḍa-vat ॥ 14 ॥

tatra nāḍyaḥ samutpannāḥ sahasrāṇi dvi-saptatiḥ ।

teṣu nāḍī-sahasreṣu dvi-saptatir udāhṛtā ॥ 15 ॥

pradhānāḥ prāṇa-vāhinyo bhūyas tāsu daśa smṛtāḥ ।

iḍā ca piṅgalā caiva suṣumnā ca tṛtīyagā ॥ 16 ॥

gāndhārī hasti-jihvā ca pūṣā caiva yaśasvinī ।

suṣumnā madhya-deśe tu gāndhārī vāma-cakṣuṣi ।

dakṣiṇe hasti-jihvā ca pūṣā karṇe tu dakṣiṇe ॥ 19 ॥

yaśasvinī vāma-karṇe cānane cāpy alambusā ।

nāgaḥ kūrmo'tha kṛkaro deva-datto dhanañ-jayaḥ ।

hṛdi prāṇaḥ sthito nityam apāno guda-maṇḍale ॥ 23 ॥

samāno nābhi-deśe tu udānaḥ kaṇṭha-madhyagaḥ ।

vyānaḥ sarva-śarīre tu pradhānāḥ pañca-vāyavaḥ ॥ 24 ॥

udgāre nāga ākhyātaḥ kūrma unmīlane tathā ।

kṛkaraḥ kṣut-karo jñeyo deva-datto vijṛmbhaṇe ॥ 25 ॥

na jahāti mṛtaṃ vāpi sarva-vyāpī dhanañ-jayaḥ ।

ete nāḍīṣu sarvāsu bhramante jīva-jantavaḥ ॥ 26 ॥

ākṣipto bhuja-daṇḍena yathoccalati kandukaḥ ।

prāṇāpāna-samākṣiptas tathā jīvo na tiṣṭhati ॥ 27 ॥

prāṇāpāna-vaśo jīvo hy adhaścordhvaṃ ca dhāvati ।

vāma-dakṣiṇa-mārgābhyāṃ cañcalatvān na dṛśyate ॥ 28 ॥

rajju-baddho yathā śyeno gato'py ākṛṣyate punaḥ ।

guṇa-baddhas tathā jīvaḥ prāṇāpānena karṣati ॥ 29 ॥

prāṇāpāna-vaśo jīvo hy adhaścordhvaṃ ca gacchati ।

apānaḥ karṣati prāṇaṃ prāṇāpānena karṣati (em.: prāṇo'pānaṃ ca karṣati) ॥ 30 ॥

ūrdhvādhaḥ-saṃsthitāv etau yo jānāti sa yoga-vit ।

ha-kāreṇa bahir yāti sa-kāreṇa viśet punaḥ ॥ 31 ॥

haṃsa-haṃsety amuṃ mantraṃ jīvo japati sarvadā ।

ṣaṭ-śatāni divā-rātrau sahasrāṇy eka-viṃśatiḥ ॥ 32 ॥

etat-saṅkhyānvitaṃ mantraṃ jīvo japati sarvadā ।

ajapā nāma gāyatrī yogināṃ mokṣadā sadā ॥ 33 ॥

asyāḥ saṅkalpa-mātreṇa sarva-pāpaiḥ pramucyate ।

anayā sadṛśī vidyā anayā sadṛśo japaḥ ॥ 34 ॥

anayā sadṛśaṃ jñānaṃ na bhūtaṃ na bhaviṣyati ।

kuṇḍalinyāṃ samudbhūtā gāyatrī prāṇa-dhāriṇī ॥ 35 ॥

prāṇa-vidyā mahā-vidyā yas tāṃ vetti sa veda-vit ।

kandordhve kuṇḍalī-śaktir aṣṭadhā kuṇḍalākṛtiḥ ॥ 36 ॥

brahma-dvāra-mukhaṃ nityaṃ mukhenācchādya tiṣṭhati ।

yena dvāreṇa gantavyaṃ brahmad-vāram anāmayam ॥ 37 ॥

mukhenācchādya tad dvāraṃ prasuptā parameśvarī ।

prabuddhā vahni-yogena manasā marutā saha ॥ 38 ॥

sūci-vad gātram ādāya vrajaty ūrdhvaṃ suṣumnayā ।

udghāṭayet kavāṭaṃ tu yathā kuñcikayā gṛham ।
kuṇḍalinyā tathā yogī mokṣa-dvāraṃ prabhedayet ॥ 39 ॥

kṛtvā saṃpuṭitau karau dṛḍhataraṃ baddhvātha padmāsanaṃ

gāḍhaṃ vakṣasi saṃnidhāya cubukaṃ dhyānaṃ ca tacceṣṭitam ।

vāraṃ vārama pānam ūrdhvam anilaṃ procchārayet pūritaṃ

muñcan prāṇam upaiti bodham atulaṃ śakti-prabhāvān naraḥ ॥ 40 ॥

aṅgānāṃ mardanaṃ kṛtvā śrama-saṃjāta-vāriṇā ।

kaṭv-amla-lavaṇa-tyāgī kṣīra-bhojanam ācaret ॥ 41 ॥

brahma-cārī mitāhārī yogī yoga-parāyaṇaḥ ।

abdād ūrdhvaṃ bhavet siddho nātra kāryā vicāraṇā ॥ 42 ॥

su-snigdha-madhurāhāraś caturthāṃśāvaśeṣitaḥ ।

bhuñjate śiva-saṃprītyā mitāhārī sa ucyate ॥ 43 ॥

kandordhve kuṇḍalī-śaktir aṣṭadhā kuṇḍalākṛtiḥ ।

bandhanāya ca mūḍhānāṃ yogināṃ mokṣadā sadā ॥ 44 ॥

mahā-mudrā nabho-mudrā oḍyāṇaṃ ca jalandharam ।

mūla-bandhaṃ ca yo vetti sa yogī mukti-bhājanam ॥ 45 ॥

pārṣṇi-ghātena saṃpīḍya yonim ākuñcayed dṛḍham ।

apānam ūrdhva mākṛṣya mūla-bandho'yam ucyate ॥ 46 ॥

apāna-prāṇayor aikyaṃ kṣayān mūtra-purīṣayoḥ ।

yuvā bhavati vṛddho'pi satataṃ mūla-bandhanāt ॥ 47 ॥

oḍyāṇaṃ kurute yasmād aviśrāntaṃ mahā-khagaḥ ।

oḍḍiyāṇaṃ tad eva syān mṛtyu-mātaṅga-kesarī ॥ 48 ॥

udarāt paścimaṃ tāṇam adho nābher nigadyate ।

oḍyāṇam udare bandhas tatra bandho vidhīyate ॥ 49 ॥

badhnāti hi śiro-jātam adhogāmi nabho-jalam ।

tato jālan-dharo bandhaḥ kaṇṭha-duḥkhaugha-nāśanaḥ ॥ 50 ॥

jālan-dhare kṛte bandhe kaṇṭha-duḥkhaugha-nāśane (l.v.: kaṇṭha-saṅkoca-lakṣaṇe) ।

na pīyūṣaṃ pataty agnau na ca vāyuḥ pradhāvati ॥ 51 ॥

kapāla-kuhare jihvā praviṣṭā viparītagā ।

bhruvor antar-gatā dṛṣṭir mudrā bhavati khe-carī ॥ 52 ॥

na rogo maraṇaṃ tasya na nidrā na kṣudhā tṛṣā ।

na ca mūrcchā bhavet tasya yo mudrāṃ vetti khe-carīm ॥ 53 ॥

pīḍyate na ca rogeṇa lipyate na sa karmabhiḥ ।

bādhyate na ca kenāpi yo mudrāṃ vetti khe-carīm ॥ 54 ॥

cittaṃ carati khe yasmāj jihvā carati khe yataḥ ।

teneyaṃ khe-carī mudrā sarva-siddha-namas-kṛtā ॥ 55 ॥

bindu-mūla-śarīraṇi sirā yatra pratiṣṭhitāḥ ।

bhāvayantī śarīrāṇi ā-pāda-tala-mastakam ॥ 56 ॥

khe-caryā mudritaṃ yena vivaraṃ lambikordhvataḥ ।

na tasya kṣīyate binduḥ kāminyāliṅgitasya ca ॥ 57 ॥

yāvad binduḥ sthito dehe tāvan mṛtyu-bhayaṃ kutaḥ ।

yāvad baddhā nabho-mudrā tāvad bindur na gacchati ॥ 58 ॥

jvalito'pi yathā binduḥ saṃprāptaś ca hutāśanam ।

vrajaty ūrdhvaṃ gataḥ śaktyā niruddho yoni-mudrayā ॥ 59 ॥

sa punar dvi-vidho binduḥ pāṇḍaro lohitas tathā ।

pāṇḍaraṃ śuklam ity āhur lohitākhyaṃ mahā-rajaḥ ॥ 60 ॥

sindūra-vrāta-saṅkāśaṃ ravi-sthāna-sthitaṃ rajaḥ ।

śaśi-sthāna-sthitaṃ śuklaṃ tayor aikyaṃ su-durlabham ॥ 61 ॥

bindur brahmā rajaḥ śaktir bindur indū rajo raviḥ ।

ubhayoḥ saṅgamād eva prāpyate paramaṃ padam ॥ 62 ॥

vāyunā śakti-cālena preritaṃ ca yathā rajaḥ ।

yāti binduḥ sadaikatvaṃ bhaved divya-vapus tadā ॥ 63 ॥

śuklaṃ candreṇa saṃyuktaṃ rajaḥ sūrya-samanvitam ।

tayoḥ sama-rasaikatvaṃ yo jānāti sa yoga-vit ॥ 64 ॥

śodhanaṃ nāḍi-jālasya cālanaṃ candra-sūryayoḥ ।

rasānāṃ śoṣaṇaṃ caiva mahā-mudrābhidhīyate ॥ 65 ॥

vakṣo-nyasta-hanuḥ prapīḍya su-ciraṃ yoniṃ ca vāmāṅghriṇā

hastābhyām anudhārayan prasaritaṃ pādaṃ tathā dakṣiṇam ।

āpūrya śvasanena kukṣi-yugalaṃ baddhvā śanai recayet

seyaṃ vyādhi-vināśinī su-mahatī mudrā nṛṇāṃ procyate ॥ 66 ॥

candrāṃśena samabhyasya sūryāṃśenābhyaset punaḥ ।

yā tulyā tu bhavet saṅkhyā tato mudrāṃ visarjayet ॥ 67 ॥

na-hi pathyam apathyaṃ vā rasāḥ sarve'pi nīrasāḥ ।

atibhuktaṃ viṣaṃ ghoraṃ pīyūṣam iva jīryate ॥ 68 ॥

kṣaya-kuṣṭha-gudāvarta-gulmājīrṇa-puro-gamāḥ ।

tasya rogāḥ kṣayaṃ yānti mahā-mudrāṃ tu yo'bhyaset ॥ 69 ॥

kathiteyaṃ mahā-mudrā mahā-siddhi-karī nṛṇām ।

gopanīyā prayatnena na deyā yasya kasya-cit ॥ 70 ॥

padmāsanaṃ samāruhya sama-kāyaśiro-dharaḥ ।

nāsāgra-dṛṣṭir ekānte japed oṅ-kāram avyayam ॥ 71 ॥

oṃ nityaṃ śuddhaṃ buddhaṃ nirvikalpaṃ nirañjanaṃ nirākhyātam anādi-nidhanam ekaṃ turīyaṃ yad bhūtaṃ bhavad bhaviṣyat parivartamānaṃ sarvadā'navacchinnaṃ paraṃ brahma | tasmāj jātā parā śaktiḥ svayaṃ-jyotir-ātmikā । ātmana ākāśaḥ saṃbhūtaḥ । ākāśād vāyuḥ । vāyor agniḥ । agner āpaḥ । adbhyaḥ pṛthivī । eteṣāṃ pañca-bhūtānāṃ patayaḥ pañca sadā-śiveśvara-rudra-viṣṇu-brahmāṇaś ceti । teṣāṃ brahmaviṣṇu-rudrāś cotpatti-sthiti-laya-kartāraḥ । rājaso brahmā sāttviko viṣṇus tāmaso rudra iti | ete trayo guṇa-yuktāḥ । brahmā devānāṃ prathamaḥ saṃbabhūva । dhātā ca sṛṣṭau viṣṇuś ca sthitau rudraś ca nāśe bhogāya candraḥ (iti) prathamajā babhūvuḥ । eteṣāṃ brahmaṇo lokā deva-tiryaṅ-nara-sthāvarāś ca jāyante । teṣāṃ manuṣyādīnāṃ pañca-bhūta-samavāyaḥ śarīram । jñāna-karmendriyair jñāna-viṣayaiḥ prāṇādi-pañca-vāyu-mano-buddhi-cittāhaṅ-kāraiḥ sthūla-kalpitaiḥ so'pi sthūla-prakṛtir-ity ucyate । jñāna-karmendriyair jñāna-viṣayaiḥ prāṇādi-pañca-vāyu-mano-buddhibhiś ca sūkṣma-stho'pi liṅga mevety ucyate । guṇa-traya-yuktaṃ kāraṇam । sarveṣām evaṃ trīṇi śarīrāṇi vartante । jāgrat-svapna-suṣupti- turīyāś cety avasthāś catasraḥ tāsām avasthānām adhipatayaś catvāraḥ puruṣā viśva-taijasa-prājñātmānaś ceti ।

viśvo hi sthūla-bhuṅ nityaṃ taijasaḥ pravivikta-bhuk ।

ānanda-bhuk tathā prājñaḥ sarva-sākṣīty ataḥ paraḥ ॥ 72 ॥

praṇavaḥ sarvadā tiṣṭhet sarva-jīveṣu bhogataḥ ।

abhirāmas tu sarvāsu hy avasthāsu hy adho-mukhaḥ ॥ 73 ॥

akāra ukāro makāraś ceti trayo varṇās trayo vedās trayo lokās trayo guṇās trayo (trīṇy) akṣarāṇi evaṃ praṇavaḥ prakāśate ।

akāro jāgrati netre vartate sarva-jantuṣu ।

ukāraḥ kaṇṭhataḥ svapne makāro hṛdi suptitaḥ ॥ 74 ॥

virāḍ viśvaḥ sthūlaś cākāraḥ । hiraṇyagarbhas taijasaḥ sūkṣmaś ca ukāraḥ । kāraṇāvyākṛta--prājñaś ca makāraḥ ।

akāro rājaso rakto brahma cetana ucyate ।

ukāraḥ sāttvikaḥ śuklo viṣṇur itya bhidhīyate ॥ 75 ॥

makāras tāmasaḥ kṛṣṇo rudraś ceti tathocyate ।

praṇavāt prabhavo brahmā praṇavāt prabhavo hariḥ ॥ 76 ॥

praṇavā tprabhavo rudraḥ praṇavo hi paro bhavet ।

akāre līyate brahmā (hy) ukāre līyate hariḥ ॥ 77 ॥

makāre līyate rudraḥ praṇavo hi prakāśate ।

jñāninām ūrdhvago bhūyād ajñān(i)nām adhomukhaḥ ॥ 78 ॥

evaṃ vai praṇavas tiṣṭhed yas taṃ veda sa veda-vit ।

anāhata-sva-rūpeṇa jñāninā mūrdhvago bhavet ॥ 79 ॥

taila-dhārām ivācchinnaṃ dīrgha-ghaṇṭā-nināda-vat ।

praṇavasya dhvanis tad-vat tad-agraṃ brahma cocyate ॥ 80 ॥

jyotir-mayaṃ tad-agraṃ syād avācyaṃ buddhi-sūkṣmataḥ ।

dadṛśur ye mahātmāno yas taṃ veda sa veda-vit ॥ 81 ॥

jāgran-netra-dvayor madhye haṃsa eva prakāśate ।

sakāraḥ khe-carī proktas tvaṃ-padaṃ ceti niścitam ॥ 82 ॥

hakāraḥ parameśaḥ syāt tat-padaṃ ceti niścitam ।

sakāro dhyāyate jantur hakāro hi bhaved dhṛvam ॥ 83 ॥

indriyair badhyate jīva ātmā caiva na badhyate ।

mamatvena bhavej jīvo nirmamatvena kevalaḥ ॥ 84 ॥

bhūr bhuvaḥ svar ime lokāḥ soma-sūryāgni-devatāḥ ।

yasya mātrāsu tiṣṭhanti tat paraṃ jyotir om iti ॥ 85 ॥

icchā kriyā tathā jñānaṃ brāhmī raudrī ca vaiṣṇavī ।

tridhā mātrā-sthitir yatra tat paraṃ jyotir om iti ॥ 86 ॥

vacasā taj japen nityaṃ vapuṣā tat samabhyaset ।

manasā taj japen nityaṃ tat paraṃ jyotir omi ti ॥ 87 ॥

śucir vāpy aśucir vāpi yo japet praṇavaṃ sadā ।

na sa lipyati pāpena padma-pattram ivāmbhasā ॥ 88 ॥

cale vāte calo bindur niścale niścalo bhavet ।

yogī sthāṇutvam āpnoti tato vāyuṃ nirundhayet ॥ 89 ॥

yāvad vāyuḥ sthito dehe tāvaj jīvo na muñcati ।

maraṇaṃ tasya niṣkrāntis tato vāyuṃ nirundhayet ॥ 90 ॥

yāvad baddho marud dehe tāvaj jīvo na muñcati ।

yāvad dṛṣṭir bhruvor madhye tāvat kāla-bhayaṃ kutaḥ ॥ 91 ॥

alpa-kāla-bhayād brahmā prāṇāyama-paro bhavet ।

yogino munayaś caiva tataḥ prāṇān nirodhayet ॥ 92 ॥

ṣaḍ-viṃśad-aṅgulīr haṃsaḥ prayāṇaṃ kurute bahiḥ ।

vāma-dakṣiṇ-amārgeṇa prāṇāyāmo vidhīyate ॥ 93 ॥

Aus dieser Übersicht wird ersichtlich, dass der Großteil der Verse der Yogachudamani Upanishad aus anderen, älteren Werken zusammengetragen und in teilweise neuer Anordnung übernommen wurden. Diese sind in den meisten Fällen das Goraksha Shataka (Version 1 und 2) und die Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

Die Buchstaben ab / cd (ef) bezeichnen die vier (bzw. sechs) Versviertel (Pada). Aufgrund der in einigen Teilen von GŚ 1/2 und HYP abweichenden Versteilung und -numerierung der YCU ergibt es sich, dass manche der Verse der YCU zwei Halbversen von GŚ 1/2 bzw. HYP entsprechen. Bspw. bedeutet YCU 7 ab / cd GŚ 1 = 10 cd / ~ 11 ab, dass der erste Halbvers (ab) der YCU identisch (=) mit dem zweiten Halbvers (cd) von GŚ 1, 10 ist, und der zweite Halbvers von YCU 7 (cd) ähnlich (~) dem ersten Halbvers (ab) von GŚ 1, 11 ist.
