Himachala, Himadri: Das Himalaya Gebirge. Himachala, Sanskrit हिमाचल himācala, bedeutet Schneegebirge. Hima heißt kalt, frostig, aber auch Schnee. Achala heißt Berg, Gebirge. Himachala ist also das frostige Gebirge, das Schneegebirge. Himachala ist einer der vielen Namen des Himalaya.
