Ganz früher war die Ehre etwas, was man Gott gibt: "Ehre sei Gott in der Höhe." Das heißt, wir verehren Gott, wir erweisen Gott die Ehre, wir verneigen uns vor Gott usw. Dann gab es im Mittelalter den Begriff der Ehre, da gab es die ehrbaren <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Berufe</del>. Bestimmte Berufe galten als ehrbar, andere, wie z.B. der Henker und der Bankier und andere, galten als nicht ehrbare Berufe. Die Unehrbarkeit war so etwas wie Kastenlosigkeit. Man wirft ja den Indern vor, sie hätten eine Kastengesellschaft, die Kastengesellschaft gab es auch im Mittelalter. Da gab es die verschiedenen Grade auch von Freiheit und Unfreiheit, von Ehrbarkeit und Unehrbarkeit usw. Wenn man mit einem unehrbaren <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Menschen </del>zusammen war, dann war man sogar verunreinigt. Dann im Zuge der Aufklärung und des aufstrebenden <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Bürgertums</del>, dort <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">wurden </del>die Begriffe der Unehre anders definiert. Anstatt dass man vom Beruf her <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">und </del>Tätigkeit und Stand her als ehrbarer oder unehrbarer gegolten hat, sollte es jetzt eine gewisse Tugendhaftigkeit sein. Und so gab es dann den ehrbaren Kaufmann. Ein ehrbarer Kaufmann ist ein ehrlicher Kaufmann. Und so wurde Schritt für Schritt Ehrbarkeit in Richtung Tugendhaftigkeit gebracht. Alte Relikte des Begriffes "Ehre" sind dann ja noch in die Duellierpraxis des 19. Jahrhunderts hineingegangen, wo zunächst nur der Adel, später aber auch das Bürgertum gedacht hat, er wird in seiner Ehre gekränkt, der musste anschließend den anderen zum Duell rausfordern und dann, wenn das mit Pistolen oder Schwertern gegangen ist, dann ist einer von beiden sogar getötet worden. Irgendwann wurde diese Duellierpraxis glücklicherweise verboten. Und bis heute hat dieser Ehre-Begriff so zwei Facetten. Zum einen ist es der Ruf, den man hat, im Sinne von, wenn ein anderer einen beleidigt, dann ist man in der Ehre irgendwo verletzt. Und so gibt es tatsächlich ehrverletzende Worte und das ist sogar strafbar. Also angenommen, man sagt z.B. über den Bundespräsidenten ehrverletzende Worte, dann kann die Staatsanwaltschaft aktiv werden. Oder angenommen, ein Beamter wird gekränkt, eine Beamtenverletzung, Beamtenbeleidigung, wenn man etwas sagt, was den Beamten in den Ehre verletzt, auch dort wird der Staatsanwalt aktiv. Und auch im Zivilrecht, wenn jemand anders dir etwas sagt, was dich in deiner Ehre kränkt, kannst du den anderen vor Gericht verklagen. Das ist also der eine Aspekt der Ehrenhaftigkeit. Mein Tipp wäre, dort nicht zu eng das zu sehen und Swami Sivananda hat gerne gesagt: "Bear insult, bear injury, trage <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Kränkungen</del>, trage <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Beleidigungen </del>und trage Schmähung." Du bekommst den stärksten Ruf, wenn dir Dinge nichts ausmachen, was andere über dich sagen. Wenn du inmitten von Beschimpfungen gleichmütig bleibst, dann hast du wahrscheinlich deine Ehre besser bewahrt als durch alles andere. Und der zweite Aspekt von Ehre, das ist der, den ich für wichtiger halte, Ehrenhaftigkeit heißt, du hältst dich an die Ethik. Und wie ich nicht müde werde, zu betonen, die fünf Yamas von Patanjali sind meiner Ansicht nach die genialste Weise, die gesamte Ethik zusammenzufassen. Ahimsa heißt <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Nicht-Verletzen </del>und Mitgefühl. Satya heißt Wahrhaftigkeit. Asteya heißt Nicht-Stehlen und <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">heißt </del>Ehrlichkeit. Brahmacharya – Vermeidung sexuellen <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Fehlverhaftens</del>. Und Aparigraha – Unbestechlichkeit, weder andere bestechen, noch selbst bestochen zu werden. Wenn du dich daran hältst, dann bist du ein ehrenhafter Mensch. Früher hätte man auch gesagt, von Würde, es ist würdevoll, ehrlich zu sein. Und ehrenhaft heißt eben auch, dass man sich an die Ethik hält. Zur Ehrenhaftigkeit gehört wahrscheinlich auch ein gewisser Grad an Gelassenheit dazu. Jemanden, der sich über irgendwas aufregt und schnell echauffiert, würde man wahrscheinlich nicht so ganz als ehrenhaft bezeichnen, selbst wenn der meint, dass er seine Ehre verteidigt. Also heutzutage, Ehrenhaftigkeit und Ethik, das gehört irgendwie zusammen, mindestens könnte es zusammen gehören und wenn du gleichmütig bist bei <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Verletzungen </del>und <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Kränkungen</del>, dann meine ich, hast du einen höheren Grad von Ehrenhaftigkeit, als wenn du dich in deiner Ehre gekränkt fühlst und auf Rache sinnen würdest. Denke selbst darüber nach, sagt für dich der Begriff "Ehrenhaftigkeit" irgendetwas?
